Science Dean Finalist John G. Dorsey to Visit Campus

John G. Dorsey, finalist for the position of dean of Utah State University’s College of Science, visits campus Jan. 16-17. He will hold an open forum with students, faculty and staff Tuesday, Jan. 16, from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Merrill-Cazier Library auditorium, room 101.

Dorsey is the Katherine Blood Hoffman Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Florida State University. He served as chair of the Department of Chemistry at Florida State University from 1994-99. In 2006 he received the “Award in Chromatography” from the American Chemical Society and he has served as editor of the Journal of Chromatography A since 1999.

 

Dorsey earned an A.B. degree in chemistry from Kentucky’s Transylvania University and master’s and doctorate degrees in analytical chemistry from the University of Cincinnati.

 

Dorsey is one of four candidates for the dean’s position. Future dates of open forums, all of which will be held from 4-5:30 p.m. in room 101 of the Merrill-Cazier Library, are:
