Say it with Flowers
USU Extension horticulturist Loralie Cox says the Persian custom of expressing feelings with flowers came to Europe in the 1700s. Roses are the most popular floral greeting, with the red rose expressing romantic love. Lavender roses signify love at first sight, while yellow means friendship. Light pink roses offer sympathy and dark pink expresses gratitude.
