Save the Date: Another Music Department Concert — 'Evening in Brazil'
The band is back for 'An Evening in Brazil' and a concert Friday, Feb. 27.
The Evening in Brazil band is back at Utah State University’s Caine Performance Hall in a one-night only concert Friday, Feb. 27, 7:30 p.m.
This is the group’s seventh annual show, providing Brazilian jazz entertainment to spice up the winter season. The ensemble explores Brazilian rhythms and performs music by Brazilian composers from the Bossa Nova movement, including Antonio Carlos Jobim, Marcos Valle and Roberto Menescal, but with additional songs from several contemporary Brazilian composers.
Performers for the evening include Mike Christiansen on guitar, Christopher Neale on guitar and vocals, Linda Ferreira Linford on vocals, Eric Nelson on saxophone and clarinet, Lars Yorgason on bass, Travis Taylor on drums and Don Keipp on percussion.
General admission tickets are $17 and student and youth tickets are $10. Tickets are available at the Caine College of the Arts Box Office in room L101 of the Chase Fine Arts Center on USU’s Logan campus, by calling 435-797-8022 or online. Tickets are also available at the door the performance evening.
