ROTC Receives High Marks

Utah State University’s U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) recently received high marks in the Ranger Challenge Competition, where it competed against 22 other schools.

The ROTC won first place in the Small School Division, as well as first place overall for the Rope Bridge and Obstacle Course. In the Small School Division its cadets placed second in Land Navigation and third place in the Army Physical Fitness Test.

“Having an ROTC unit in a liberal arts college may seem, on some level, a curious thing,” said Gary Kiger, dean of the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. “ROTC is, like other departments in the college, outstanding.”
