Retention and First-Year Experience the Focus of New Unit

Gary A. Chambers, interim vice president for Student Services at Utah State University, announced the creation of a new unit in Student Services — the department of Retention and First-Year Experience. Noelle Call has been appointed director of the new unit.

Focus of the unit includes five areas — retention, first-year experience, SOAR, Connections and the Parents Association. Call previously directed the Academic Resource Center, and Carol Rosenthal will become acting director of that area.

 

“We anticipate an enlarged vision as these entities come together in an enhanced, coordinated effort,” Chambers said. “We are fortunate to have such qualified staff members to make this change possible.”
