Religion and Politics
Billy McCormack, pastor of University Baptist Church in Shreveport, La., and founding board member of the Christian Coalition, joined NPR’s Justice Talking host Margot Adler and Bob Edgar, general secretary of the National Council of the Churches of Christ, in a broadcast recording at the Eccles Conference Auditorium Sept. 14.
Several hundred faculty, staff, students and community members attended the event that focused on the role religion plays on the 2004 election. Some are predicting that this will be the most religiously polarized presidential election in United States history.
The discussion, which included several questions from audience members, will be broadcast on Utah Public Radio (KUSU) 8 p.m. Sept. 30.
