Register for Two-Day GIS Course at USU

Utah State University’s Remote Sensing/Geographic Information Systems Laboratory offers a two-day course, “Intro to ArcGIS I,” Sept. 22 and 29. The course is designed for those who are new to ArcGIS and new to geographic information systems in general.

“The course will introduce participants to ArcGIS 9.2 and provides the foundation for becoming a successful ArcView, Arc Editor or ArcInfo user,” says Lowry, associate director of the RS/GIS Lab. “Participants will learn to use ArcMap, Arc Catalog and ArcToolbox and explore how these applications work together to provide a complete GIS solution.”

 

In addition to covering fundamental GIS concepts, the course offers instruction in how to query the GIS database, manipulate tabular data, edit spatial and attribute data, along with how to present data clearly and efficiently.

 

The class will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, and Saturday, Sept. 29, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. each day in Biology-Natural Resources building, room 208. Course cost is $300, which includes the text and ESRI certification.
