Reception Honors Craig Law
A reception was held at the President's Home to recognize the talents of Utah State University faculty member Craig Law.
A series of photographs by the Department of Art professor now graces the walls of the President's Home. Ten large-scale photographs are highlighted throughout the home, the site of many university gatherings.
"It's an honor to be able to feature the artwork of one of our faculty in this way," President Albrecht said.
The president went on to say that Law's photographs capture the unique quality of our state's geography and its ancient history.
The photographs reinforce President Albrecht and First Lady Joyce Albrecht's ties to Utah. Both native Utahns, they appreciate the sensitivity shown by Law in providing insights into the state's hidden ancient treasures.
Upwards of 100 guests gathered for the patio reception to pay tribute to Law. Members of the President's Ambassadors were on hand to assist and guitarist Kris Krompel provided background music.
Craig Law's photographs have been featured in a number of exhibitions throughout the region. His work was recently part of a story that was published in Smithsonian Magazine. Law has been at Utah State for 27 years and was the head of the art department for six years. He stepped down to devote more time to his photography projects.
