Radiation Remediation

Efforts of USU researchers Susan Dawson and Gary Madsen are paying off for uranium mine, mill and ore transporter workers of the Colorado Plateau. The researchers' studies of uranium exposures and health effects contributed to the passage of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA), which, to date, has provided $426 million to more than 4,270 individuals.
