Quake Possible In Cache Valley

Utah State University geologist Jim Evans says two conspiring factors contribute to the likelihood of an earthquake in Cache Valley. One is a seismic parabola, a quake-prone U-shaped wake extending southwest from an underground “hotspot” near Yellowstone National Park. The other is the large Wasatch Fault looming just over the Wellsville Mountains.
