Public Invited to Physics Demonstrations at USU

Ever wonder how a cat lands on its feet, why balls bounce or how a battery works? Inquiring minds of all ages are invited to attend the Physics Demonstration Share-a-thon Friday, March 23, at Utah State University.

Participants in the Idaho-Utah section of the American Association of Physics Teachers meeting, held this year at USU, will demonstrate a variety of mind-stretching experiments from 7-9 p.m. in the Eccles Science Learning Center auditorium, room 130. The gathering is free and open to all.

 

“This is a terrific opportunity to see a lot of creative and innovative demonstrations,” said James Coburn, Teaching Laboratory supervisor in USU’s Physics Department. “It’s a fun activity for the whole family.”

 

Free parking for the gathering is available after 6:30 p.m. in the university parking terrace at 850 E. 700 North. Parking is also available in the new university parking terrace, at $1.50 per hour, at 700 E. 600 North, which is located just west of the ESLC. The USU campus is served by Logan Transit District Routes 1 and 4, with a bus stop at the Veterinary Science building on 700 North.

 

Utah State is host to the 26th annual Idaho-Utah AAPT spring meeting March 23-24.
