Professional Employee of the Quarter

Rachel Lewis, a program administrator with the office of University Advising and Transitional Services at Utah State University, was recognized as the Professional Employee of the quarter at the Professional Employees annual luncheon Nov. 11.

 

According to her colleagues, Rachel earns the trust of students through caring and reliable advice. She cares immensely about the quality of her work, but more importantly, about the individuals for whom her endeavors are directed. 

 

Rachel was instrumental in the development and implementation of Orientation on the Road. Last year she piloted these very successful orientations at Snow College, the College of Eastern Utah and Salt Lake Community College.

 

She has initiated and received a charter for Utah State to create a chapter of Tau Sigma, an honor society for transfer students. She has also developed the "Intent to Transfer" program, so that students at a two-year institution can receive advising from Utah State advisors prior to their transfer to Utah State University.   

 

Rachel volunteers her time to the Utah State Hockey team, serving as assistant manager and academic advisor. With her help, all five of the seniors on the team will be graduating.
