Presidential Lecture Series

Utah State University's Presidential Lecture Series continues Nov. 10 in Washington, D.C., with a presentation by Dr. Ken White, professor of reproductive and embryo biology at Utah State. President Kermit L. Hall will welcome alums and guests to the lecture and reception that is held at the National Press Club.

 

White's lecture focuses on cloning and stem cell research. He will share the successes, failures and potential benefits to mankind of this work. Speaking in layman's language, White will give the audience a glimpse of what's ahead in these revolutionary sciences.

 

As a faculty member from Utah State University, White was on the team that cloned the first animal from the horse family, a mule. He also cloned two other mules and 20 other animals.

 

The event is hosted by the Aggie Alumni Chapter of the greater Washington, D.C., area and Utah State. Sponsors include J.R. Simplot Company, Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah and Lee and Smith, P.C.
