President Albrecht Talks to Cache Valley

President Albrecht visited with the Valley Channel’s Jennie Christensen, who interviewed him as featured guest on “Let’s Talk Cache Valley.”

The two discussed the newly updated President’s Residence, a legislative recap, Utah State Founder’s Day, construction projects on campus, the men’s and women’s basketball team successes and plans for a modest inauguration event to be held in the fall.

Discussions about the Old Main Society dinner included a great “thanks” to the many private donors who support Utah State, while also reminding viewers that “we can’t take the public out of public higher education.”

“ Utah State University is a public, land grant institution that makes a great contribution to the state,” said President Albrecht. “We need support from our state and we feel good about the successes we had at the legislature this year.”

President Albrecht also spoke about the upcoming Spring Commencement on May 7, and was excited to announce that Merlin Olsen, of Utah State football fame, will be the Commencement speaker.
