Poetry from USU Press Publication Featured on the Web Today

According to its Web site, The Writer’s Almanac, from American Public Media, features Garrison Keillor recounting the highlights of this day in history and he reads a short poem or two. Today’s poem is by George Bilgere from a book published by Utah State University Press.

According to Michael Spooner, director of USU Press, Keillor requested three poems from the book Haywire. He used two poems from the collection last week in addition to today’s poem, also titled “Haywire.” Keillor featured work from another USU Press book last year, Spooner said.

 

The poet, George Bilgere, will appear at Utah State University Oct. 19 as part of the Department of English Speakers Series. Details about his visit will be released at a later date.
