Plan Ahead - Music Therapy Forum is April 11
A Music Therapy Forum takes place Wednesday, April 11, at 12:30 p.m. in the Taggart Student Center’s Sunburst Lounge. The forum is free and open to everyone.
Those attending the forum will learn more about the field of music therapy and what its practitioners do.
“As a music therapy major I’m constantly asked ‘what is music therapy’ and ‘what do you do,’” said student Cathy Croft. “People on the East coast are aware of the benefits of music therapy, but here, hardly anyone has even heard of it. That is especially sad because Utah State has one of the strongest music therapy programs in the Western United States.”
Croft attributes the program’s success to Music Department Head and professor Bruce Saperston, a music therapist. Saperston has degrees in music therapy and education.
“Anyone interested in learning more about music therapy is invited to attend the forum,” Croft said. “Music therapy is an exciting area, with a lot to offer. Please join us for the forum.”
