In collaboration with USU Alumni, Athletics, Dining Services and Admissions, the office of Student Orientation and Transition Services anticipates an exciting weekend with events and activities in the community and on campus. A detailed event list is online, including directions and a link to reserve discounted Aggie football and basketball game tickets, a tailgate meal and free campus tours via USU Athletics.
There are several campus and community activities happening during the weekend, including a library reception, campus tours, family photos and the tailgate meal. All activities provide the opportunity to meet other Aggie families and interact with campus staff.
An overview of activities includes:
- Friday, Oct. 30, 6 p.m. Pre-Game Tailgate: Parents, family members and students can reserve a BBQ Tailgate meal prior to the game then cheer on the Aggie football team. Meal tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children (10 years and younger). Please make reservations for the meal by Monday, Oct. 26, by 3 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 31, 10 a.m. USU Library Reception: Enjoy donuts and locally sourced apple cider during a tour of USU’s Merrill-Cazier Library. The original Aggie Family Day originated more than 25 years ago and has evolved in the last 15 years into the Parent and Family Weekend.
Parent and Family Weekend is meant to give students the chance to share their USU experiences with their families. Each year parents are invited to visit their student on a beautiful fall weekend in Logan. Entire families can attend, offering the opportunity to introduce younger siblings to how great college life is as an Aggie.
Those organizing the event at USU want to create an Aggie legacy through the families of USU students. And, the proud USU students want their parents, younger siblings and, in some cases grandparents, to see their great college life. With the routine of fall semester established, students can recount their daily routines and show their families where they study, go to class, spend free-time and cheer on the Aggies.
There’s still time to become involved in Parent and Family Weekend. See the extended list of activities online and tickets and reservations can also be made online through Athletics.
