Overwhelmed with Freedom
Entering college is often a young person’s first experience living away from home and while students may enjoy their new freedom, they may feel overwhelmed by structuring their own time. USU physician Jim Davis says parents should talk with their youngsters about time management, healthy habits and where to seek help and advice on campus, including the health center and the counseling center.
Jim Davis is the Utah State University physician and director of USU’s Student Health and Wellness Center. The center serves as the primary care clinic for USU students and provides a variety of educational and awareness programs in alcohol, tobacco and substance abuse, healthy relationships, sexual assault and rape prevention, nutrition, peer pressure and safe recreational practices. For more information call 435-797-1660 or visit the center’s Web site.
