Old Lyric Repertory Company Offers Four Productions

actors from "Moon Over Buffalo"The Old Lyric Repertory Company (OLRC) is a summer theatre program operated by the department of theatre at Utah State University. The company is a training ground for advanced theatre arts students as well as professionals. The OLRC generally produces four productions each summer in repertory, the last true rolling rep theatre company in northern Utah, said Colin Johnson, OLRC executive director and producer.

The company's fourth production of the season, Agatha Christie's The Hollow, is about to open, joining three other productions already on the boards. The Hollow opens July 15 and continues until Aug. 7 in repertory with Moon Over BuffaloSong of Singapore and Enchanted April. Celia Baker, Salt Lake Tribune theatre critic, was in Logan to review the OLRC's opening production, Moon Over Buffalo, a farce. "Now you need to know where well-rendered farce can be found," she writes in her review. "The Old Lyric Repertory Company, one of the best-kept secrets of Utah's theater scene, is offering a priceless production of Moon Over Buffalo by that wily farce-savant Ken Ludwig, at the charming Caine Lyric Theatre in Logan. The productions can be seen at the Caine Lyric Theatre in downtown Logan (28 W. Center St.) and curtain time for evening performances is 8 p.m., matinees at 2 p.m.

Dates for the remainder of the season include: The Hollow, July 15, 16 and 17 (matinee and evening); Moon Over Buffalo, July 21; Song of Singapore, July 22;Enchanted April, July 23; The Hollow, July 24, 27; Moon Over Buffalo, July 28;The Hollow, July 29; Song of Singapore, July 30; Enchanted April, July 31 (matinee and evening); Song of Singapore, Aug. 4; The Hollow, Aug. 5; Moon Over Buffalo, Aug. 6; and Song of Singapore, Aug. 7 (matinee and evening).
