NPR's Zorba Paster Makes Weekend-Long Stop at UPR to Share Healthy Advice
Zorba Paster, the host of NPR's "Zorba Paster on Your Health" will join Utah Public Radio from March 17 to March 20 for events ranging from a St. Paddy’s Dinner to a ski day at Beaver Mountain.
National Public Radio’s most famous physician brings his “laughter is the best medicine” approach to Utah during a weekend-long visit that will include several opportunities for community members to interact with him.
The host of NPR’s “Zorba Paster on Your Health” will join Utah Public Radio from March 17 to March 20 for events ranging from a St. Paddy’s Dinner to a ski day at Beaver Mountain.
The event will be, according to UPR general manager Peg Arnold, “a weekend of good-living activities.”
“This is a unique opportunity for members of the community to experience personally a dose of the latest medical information alongside the humorous and kind-hearted advice only Zorba Paster can deliver,” she said.
Paster’s show is aired on UPR (FM 91.5 in the Cache Valley) Fridays at 4 a.m. with a rebroadcast Sundays at noon. Along with co-host Tom Clark, Paster offers down-to-earth advice to callers on issues ranging from preparing for a mountain run to the effects on the kidney from such drugs as Prilosec. As a bonus, Paster shares healthy recipes.
Paster is a physician for the Dalai Lama, meeting with him annually at the Mayo Clinic. The Dalai Lama also wrote the introduction to Paster’s book, “The Longevity code: Your Personal Prescription for a Longer, Sweeter Life.”

Friday, March 17: St. Paddy’s Dinner at Herm’s Inn.
Saturday, March 18: A day-long presentation at Stokes Nature Center in Logan Canyon. The day includes a workshop on tapping maple syrup (in Utah!), a hike with experts from UPR’s weekly nature series “Wild About Utah” and a catered lunch.
Sunday, March 19: Ski Day at Beaver Mountain. A shuttle for skiers leaves at 8 a.m. from the First Dam in Logan Canyon with day-long skiing opportunities at the resort.
Monday, March 20: Paster will be interviewed by Utah Access host Tom Williams at 9 a.m. Listeners are invited to call or email during the conversation. The hour-long show will be rebroadcast the same day at 7 p.m.
