Nominations Open for Utah State University Diversity Awards
It is once again time for the 23rd Annual Utah State University Diversity Awards. One individual/group from each of the following categories will be recognized for furthering the principles and values of affirmative action, equal opportunity and diversity: Student; Faculty; Administrator; Staff; and Community member.
The award criteria include:
- Models behavior that promotes diversity.
- Nourishes acceptance of individual differences.
- Strives to enhance academic, employment or community relations among people who are different.
- Integrates diversity concepts and values into academic curriculum, management functions or community service.
- Develops methods for increasing and valuing diversity among students, faculty, staff or local businesses/associations.
- Maximizes opportunities to achieve diversity.
- Has not received the award in the past five (5) years (view previous five year’s recipients online).
To submit a nomination for an individual or group, please prepare a nomination letter of not more than two (2) pages for each nomination, formatted to address as many of the above criteria as are applicable, and submit it to the AA/EO Office by 5 p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2016. It may be delivered to Old Main, Room 161, or via campus mail (UMC 1475), fax (x70291) or e-mail (carolyn.baker@usu.edu).
