Mountain Meadows Massacre is Topic of Lecture at USU

A noted author and historian is the featured guest at Utah State University for the Friends of the Merrill-Cazier Library’s spring lecture.

Richard E. Turley will discuss the forthcoming book Tragedy at Mountain Meadows during his lecture Thursday, March 29, at 7 p.m. in the library’s conference room (101). The lecture is free and all are invited.

 

Tragedy at Mountain Meadows will be published by Oxford University Press. Turley is co-author of the book with Glen Leonard and Ronald W. Walker.

 

Turley’s lecture at USU is titled “The Mountain Meadows Massacre, Questions and Answers.” He will draw from his years of experience and book research for the lecture.

 

Turley is the managing director of the Family and Church History Department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He holds a law degree and is the author of Victims, a book that details the Mark Hoffman forgery case.

 

Friends of the Merrill-Cazier Library is a community-based organization that aims to create awareness of the library’s resources, facilities and personnel. Its members and activities enrich library resources and a number of outreach activities are held each year.
