KICKING OFF

Utah State (3-2-1) is back home at Chuck & Gloria Bell Field this week, following a 1-0-1 roadtrip to the Lone Star State. The Aggies take on in-state rival Utah (5-0-2) Friday, Sept. 19, at 4 p.m. and against UC Riverside (4-1-1) Sunday, Sept. 21, at noon (MT). USU is 4-11-0 all-time against the Utes and 1-2-2 all-time against the Highlanders.

AGGIE BLUE OUT

Aggie fans are encouraged to wear Aggie Blue Friday, for the “Aggie Blue Out” at Chuck and Gloria Bell Field. This will be the second home athletics event of the week between USU and Utah, as well as the second Blue Out as the Aggie volleyball team took on the Utes, Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m. in the Wayne Estes Center.

AGGIES VS. UTES

Overall, the Aggies are 4-11-0 against the Utes. The two teams met last season in Salt Lake City, with Utah topping Utah State, 3-0.

Senior midfielder Katie Taylor currently leads Utah with eight points. She ranks second in the Pac-12 with four assists. After scoring eight points in her first two seasons, junior midfielder Kaycee Buckley has tallied five points in 2014 with two goals and one assist. Six other Utes have also registered points this season including junior defender Nykell Seymour and sophomore midfielder Mikayla Elmer. Junior Lindsey Luke guards the net for Utah, having allowed just three goals all season and adding 24 saves.

AGGIES VS. HIGHLANDERS

Utah State and UC Riverside have met on the pitch five times in the past. With a 1-2-2 overall record over the years, the two most recently met in Riverside in 2010. There, the teams drew at 0-0 in double overtime.

Junior forward Tyler Cunningham is the leading scorer for the Highlanders right now, with three goals and nine total points. Sophomore forward Blanca Barrio, senior forward Celina Valencia, freshman midfielder Amanda Apelian and sophomore midfielder Sammy Arellano are all close behind Cunningham with two goals each. Elizabeth Silas is the starting goalkeeper for UC Riverside, with 22 saves and a GAA of 1.52.
