Lowered Flags Honor Utah Soldier
Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, Jr., has authorized the lowering of the national and state flags Thursday, Nov. 1. Flags will be flown at half-staff at all state faculties from sunrise to sunset in honor of Staff Sergeant Larry Ismael Rougle.
Sgt. Rougle died Oct. 23, 2007, in Afghanistan from injuries he sustained when his position encountered small arms fire. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Airborne Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Caserma Ederle, Italy.
A viewing is Thursday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. at the Saint Francis Church, 4501 W. 5215 South, Kearns, Utah. Burial will take place Thursday, Nov. 8, in Arlington National Cemetery.
