Logan Canyon Winds Blows into Centennial Junior High for a Concert
Utah State University’s Department of Music faculty woodwind quintet Logan Canyon Winds hits the road for a performance Nov. 18 at Kaysville’s Centennial Junior High School. The concert begins at 5:30 p.m. Members of the quintet represent the Department of Music in USU’s Caine College of the Arts.
The performance is part of the “Winds on the Road” theme.
“We will be playing pieces from Debussy, Malcolm Arnold, Jenni Brandon and more,” said Bonnie Schroeder, Logan Canyon Winds oboist. “The program literally takes us around the world. We go from French ragtime to British sailor music, then American frogs and Jewish dance to an African American spiritual. We finish with a tango from Argentina and a suite of Hungarian pieces.
Logan Canyon Winds has performed across the United States and at the 1998 and 2000N ational Conferences of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association.
The quintet will close the show with a performance of “Serenade” by Ferenc Farkas.
The Logan Canyon Winds performance at Centennial Junior High at 740 Sunset Drive in Kaysville is free and open to the public.
