Local Ski Race Receives Grant

The “Ullr Chase” ski race received a $1,500 grant from the Cache Valley Visitors’ Bureau.

The race, jointly sponsored by Utah State University’s Campus Recreation and Nordic United, is a 40- kilometer freestyle Nordic skiing event.

This year’s race is Saturday, March 10, in northern Utah’s Bear River Range. The race starts in Franklin Basin and finishes near Beaver Mountain.

Now in its second year, organizers hope the event becomes the winter equivalent of other Cache Valley-based races, including the Top of Utah marathon and LOTOJA bike tour.
