Living Longer

USU researcher JoAnn Tschanz has been working with the National Institute on Aging with a group of 5,100 Cache County,Utah, residents to evaluate their susceptibility to Alzheimer’s and dementia. Tschanz is trying to understand the factors for successful aging by isolating genes and looking at what vitamins and minerals these residents are taking that may stave off the conditions.
