Library Update

The Merrill-Cazier Library is on the move.

William B. Meyer Movers has begun the process of transporting and storing many books and all bound journals in the automated storage and retrieval system. During the process, patrons may experience some inconvenience or delay in locating materials. In addition to items being in transit, records in the online catalog are undergoing holdings location changes.

If patrons have difficulty locating a book or journal, request the item at any service desk in either library building. The item will be retrieved and made available later that day or the following morning. Call the circulation or reference desks for assistance (Merrill circulation, 797-2633; Merrill reference, 797-2678; Sci-Tech circulation, 797-2913; Sci-Tech reference, 797-2917).

Both libraries will remain open during the moving process; however, access to the new building will be limited as the move and final phases of construction are completed.

Throughout August and September, library resources, staff, and services will move into the new Merrill-Cazier Library. The process is expected to be completed by the first of October.

A ribbon-cutting event for the new library is being planned in conjunction with President Albrecht's inauguration in October. A formal dedication will follow in the spring.
