'Libraries Through Time' at the USU Museum of Anthropology

Activities continue Saturday, Aug. 30, with Utah State University’s “Saturdays at the Museum” series at the Museum of Anthropology. The museum will host a “Libraries Through Time” tour. Guests will learn how libraries began and about ancient libraries, including the library of Alexandria in Egypt, and modern libraries today, including the Library of Congress. The tour will also concentrate on book-related topics such as book burning and banning.

“Libraries hold our history as well as our identity,” said Saturdays Coordinator Ashley Smith. “We can learn so much from these establishments that keep and preserve our heritage.”

 

Guests may choose to take the tour or complete a self-guided tour of the museum themselves. USU students and members of the public are invited to the museum any time during the 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday hours.
