Landscaping Against Wildfire
For homeowners who enjoy living close to Utah’s wilderness areas, simple landscaping choices can increase their home’s chance of survival during a wildfire. Creating a defensible space within 100 feet of your residence is critical, says USU Extension Forester Mike Kuhns. Fire quickly spreads through resinous trees and shrubs and can rapidly envelope a home.
