Making your mortgage payments can be a real concern if you suddenly lose your job. Contact your lender if you can’t meet your commitment, says Utah State University Extension specialist Barbara Rowe. Missing a payment means defaulting on your contract. Creditors would rather help you with an alternative plan than foreclose on your home.
