John Mortensen Elected to Regional Post

John D. Mortensen, director of University Advising and Transfer Services at Utah State University, has been elected to the national leadership position of Region Chair of the Rocky Mountain Region 10 of the National Academic Advising Association. Mortensen will assume his leadership role at the end of the NACADA national conference held in October and serve in his position until October 2008.

In this leadership position, Mortensen will be responsible for representing and providing leadership to the membership within the geographic region, facilitating networking opportunities and member recruitment, identifying needed membership services for the region and establishing and maintaining a regional governing structure .In this role, Mortensen will be contributing not only to the association but to the profession of advising and higher education in general.

 

The National Academic Advising Association was chartered as a non-profit organization in 1979 to promote quality academic advising and professional development of its membership to ensure the educational development of students.
