Jeannie Thomas Named Interim Associate Dean
Utah State University professor of English Jeannie Banks Thomas has been named interim associate dean of the arts in the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. Her major assignment as associate dean is to provide leadership to the collective arts related activities and curricula in HASS by working with the various units of the college, as well as engaging in collaborations with other USU units, and with local, regional and national venues. In addition, she will serve on the Dean's Executive Team, as well as work with the development officers of the college and university.
Thomas will retain a 25 percent appointment in her home English Department. Her new office will be in the HASS dean's suite.
“I am very excited about having Jeannie serve on the dean's administrative team,” said HASS Dean Yolanda Flores Neimann. “She is a well respected and liked member of our HASS community, and she brings much enthusiasm, creativity and energy to this two-year appointment, and she has the enthusiastic support of the members of the Caine School of the Arts.”
