Jaycee Carroll a Member of New Jersey Nets Summer League Roster

Former Utah State University All-American Jaycee Carroll has agreed to be a member of the New Jersey Nets Summer League roster and will play in eight games during a three-week period in July.

Carroll is one of 16 players listed on the Nets' Summer League roster, which includes 10 rookies, three players with one year of NBA experience and three players with two years of NBA experience.

 

New Jersey will begin its eight-game slate at the Orlando Pro Summer League from July 7-11 and play against Chicago, Indiana, Miami, Orlando and Seattle. Fans can watch each game in Orlando live on njnets.com and orlandomagic.com.

 

The Nets will then conclude its summer schedule by playing three games in the Rocky Mountain Revue from July 18-25. All games will be played at the Lifetime Activities Center located at the Redwood Campus of Salt Lake Community College. New Jersey's first game in Salt Lake City will be against Golden State on Monday, July 21, at 2:15 p.m., followed by a game against Utah on Tuesday, July 22, at 7 p.m. The Nets will play its third and final game in the Revue against Dallas on Thursday, July 24, at 4:30 p.m.

 

Carroll, a 6-2, 175-pound All-American guard from Evanston, Wyo., led Utah State to a 24-11 record and a share of its first-ever Western Athletic Conference regular season championship this year as USU posted a 12-4 league mark. Utah State also recorded its ninth-straight 23-win season and advanced to its ninth-straight postseason, appearing in the National Invitation Tournament.

 

As a senior, Carroll was named the WAC's Player of the Year as he ranked first in the nation in three-point shooting at 49.8 percent, was second in the nation in free throw shooting at 91.9 percent, and 13th in scoring with 22.4 points per game. He also ranked 10th in the WAC in field goal shooting at 52.6 percent.

 

For his career, Carroll ranks fourth all-time in NCAA history in three-point shooting at 46.5 percent, is 12th in three-pointers made with 369, and 52nd in scoring with 2,522 points. He also holds 10 school records at Utah State, including being USU¹s all-time leading scorer.
