Jason Thomas Named Academic Advisor at Utah State

Jason Thomas has joined the Utah State Athletics Department as an academic advisor/tutor coordinator for student-athlete services it was recently announced by Associate Athletics Director Brian Evans. Thomas officially began his duties at USU on May 12.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue my interaction with student-athletes at Utah State University,” said Thomas. “I hope that my passion for life will help to impact the lives of all who come in contact with me.”

 

Thomas is a native of Moreno Valley, Calif., and graduated from Utah State in 2005 with a degree in marketing and human resource management. He also earned his master’s degree in corporate wellness from USU in the spring of 2008.

 

While at Utah State, Thomas spent three years (2001-03) as a wide receiver on the Aggie Football team and one year (2004) as a student-assistant coach working with the wide receivers. During the 2004 season, he also planned and led all church services for the team.

 

“Jason is a great hire for us,” said Evans. “He knows Utah State very well having played football and earning both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the university. He will be a tremendous asset to our program as well as a positive role model for our student-athletes.”

 

Thomas replaces Shukria Stewart who resigned to pursue other professional opportunities.
