James and the Giant Peach Jumps from the Page to the Stage at USU

Utah State Theatre at Utah State University presents its second production of the season in the form of a peach. A staged production of James and the Giant Peach, also a book and a film, comes to the Morgan Theatre on the Utah State Campus Friday, Oct. 27, and Saturday, Oct. 28.

The production is tabbed as this year’s UST family production, providing an environment for family fun and learning. Friday’s performance begins at 7:30 p.m., with Saturday offering both a matinee (2 p.m.) and evening (7:30 p.m.) performance. Tickets are now on sale and are available at the Smith Spectrum Ticket Office on the Utah State campus or by calling (435) 797-0305.

 

Adapted from Roald Dahls’s book by David Wood, the theatrical production of James and the Giant Peach provides the thrill of immediacy for young audiences.

 

“There’s the element of audience participation and direct address,” said director Adrianne Moore. “James and the fabulous insects speak directly to children in the audience.”
