Jake Rohbock named Dining Services' February 'Employee of the Month'
Jake Rohbock, a supervisor at Luke Café on the Quad, was named Utah State University's Dining Services’ February Employee of the Month.
Each month Utah State University’s Dining Services selects one hourly employee who best represents, through actions, one of its seven core values.
The month of February highlighted Integrity – a Dining Services’ core value that Jake Rohbock exemplifies “in all of his dealings,” said Brittanie Freeman, the customer service manager at Luke’s Café.
Rohbock is a supervisor at the café and his work ethic and actions are always apparent, even when things don’t go right, Freeman said.
“A few weeks ago, Jake closed the café but wasn’t didn’t quite finish all of the closing tasks, due to time constraints; when the employee who opened in the morning spoke up, Jake took full responsibility for the error,” Freeman said. “It’s easy to have integrity when you are doing everything right, but it’s a lot harder to have integrity when you know you done something wrong. Jake went out of his way to be honest and try to fix any mistakes, and I was really impressed.”
A fellow employee at the café said this about Rohbock:
“Jake is very honest and stands by his word. Whenever Brittanie asks him to do something and he says he’ll do it, he follows through every time, without fail. Jake takes pride in his work and he is a trusted member of the Luke’s family.”
Rohbock received a plaque along with a $50 Aggie Express Gift Card. The award was presented by Dining Services’ assistant director, Jaime Bradford.
