It's a Small World, After All: CIB Seeking 'Tiny’ Photo Contest Entries

USU’s Center for Integrated BioSystems (CIB) seeks entries for its Small World Photomicrography Competition. All are invited to participate, and the deadline for entries is March 31, 2006.

“Natural beauty is visible all around us, but a whole other world exists under the lens of a microscope,” says CIB Director and contest organizer Bart Weimer. “The Small World competition allows us to explore the wonder and complexity of life at an elemental level.”

 

Photo entries must not exceed 10MB and should be submitted to the CIB via an online entry form at the contest Web site. Subject matter is unrestricted and entries will be judged on the basis of originality, informational content, technical proficiency and visual impact. The first place winner receives a $200 credit at CIB for services and submission to the international Nikon Small World Photomicrography Contest. Second place winner receives a $100 credit at CIB for services and the third place recipient receives a $50 credit for CIB services.

 

During March, the CIB invites the community to stop by the center’s lobby to view a display of Nikon Small World Contest photographs. In April, CIB will display photos of the USU contest winners and submissions. A new display of Nikon Small World Contest photographs will be featured at the center May through July.
