'Islamic Culture through Music' at the USU Museum of Anthropology

Continuing its “Saturdays at the Museum” series at Utah State University, the Museum of Anthropology will host members of the Islamic Center of Logan Saturday, Sept. 20. Members from the center will present information on Islamic chanting, also known as Rasheeds. Events are free and everyone is invited.

The presentation will compare religious music to music found in the home. Ibrahim Mohammed, a USU student, will present from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the museum. Guests, including USU students and the public, are invited to the museum any time during the 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday hours.

 

The USU Museum of Anthropology is on the USU campus in the south turret of the historic Old Main building, Room 252. Free parking is available in the adjacent lot, south of the building. For more information on this event, call museum staff at (435) 797-7545 or visit the museum Web site.
