I'd Walk a Mile ... for a Taco
The first week of school at Utah State University, Aug. 29-Sept. 3, is designated WOW Week — Week of Welcome. Activities are planned throughout the week to reacquaint students with campus life and to ease into the rigors of academia following the summer break.
Highlights of the week include a blood battle pitting traditional rivals Utah State University and the University of Utah. The objective? What school can donate the most blood to the American Red Cross.
An ice cream social and poetry are slated. Dodge ball, movies, moonlight and music fill the schedule.
Fifteen-hundred students grabbed a free lunch Aug. 30 when "Walking Tacos" were served outside the Taggart Student Center. President Stan Albrecht was on hand to greet students who lined up for the lunch-time snack. Students were served by 40 administrators who represented a variety of programs from across campus. Students had a chance to chat briefly with President Albrecht before they picked up lunch.
A highlight of WOW Week has to be Friday night. True Aggie Night takes place at midnight. Join the crowd at the block "A" and become a true Aggie.

Some 1,500 students took advantage of the lunch and were served by volunteers from across campus.
Lines were long for lunch but President Albrecht took time to greet Aggies of all ages.
