Human Resources Policy Update on Overtime and Standard Work Hours

Utah State University’s Board of Trustees recently approved updated versions of the overtime policy (#378) and the standard work hours and attendance policy (#382) that affect classified (non-exempt) employees and their supervisors.

Definitions for “exempt” and “non-exempt” employees and information concerning travel are among the revisions.

The new policies may be found on the Human Resources Web site.

The revisions bring the two policies into full compliance with the federal government’s revised Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

The Human Resources Office staff is presently offering training for USU employees and supervisors on the new policies. The training is currently being offered on a college and unit basis.
