How to Remember

You can memorize new material by rote or by understanding, says USU Extension specialist Terry Teigeler. Multiplication tables and phone numbers are learned by rote. Flash cards are helpful when studying a new language. Ideas, concepts and theories are best learned by understanding. Read aloud passages you find difficult and develop examples to better understand unfamiliar concepts.
