Homecoming 2004: Past, Present and Future Aggie

The colorful leaves of Logan Canyon and the cool, fall breeze slowly breathing its way through the Utah State University campus can only mean one thing — Homecoming!

 

This year Homecoming events will be held the week of Oct. 4-9, and include the traditional dance, parade and football game. Other events include the Class of 1954 Reunion, lectures, an arts festival, a golf tournament, a 5k run and more. Activities are provided by a number of organizations, including the Utah State Alumni Association, the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences and the Associated Students of Utah State.

 

The Homecoming dance — “Past. Present. Future. Aggie” — is Friday, Oct. 8, at 9 p.m. in the Taggart Student Center (TSC) and promises an elegant night of music and dancing for everyone Tickets are $15 (pre-purchase) and $20 at the door and can be purchased at the Utah State ticket office in the Smith Spectrum.

 

Main Street will host the traditional Homecoming parade on Saturday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m.-noon. The parade begins at 100 S. and continues to 700 N. and includes entries from campus organizations and surrounding communities.

 

Also on Saturday, Oct. 9, Utah State fans can sport their Aggie blue at the Homecoming football game against  North Texas. Before the game, everyone is invited to participate in Aggiefest at Romney Stadium from 3-6 p.m. Game kickoff is at 6:05 p.m.

 

Round out the week's activities with free activities, music and fun after the football game at the After Party from 9 p.m.-12:30 a.m. in the TSC.

The College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences has a full slate of activities planned as well. Dean Gary Kiger and the college invite alumni and the public to enjoy Aggie traditions, with a twist. In addition to the traditional parade, game and dance offered by the university, the College of HASS is offering an arts festival, lecture, concert, hands-on museum activities and tours, and a book group led by a local award-winning author as part of Homecoming 2004.  Read more about HASS activities in the full news release in the Utah State Today archives.
