Starting a business in the home is a good way to test a business idea, said Karen Biers, USU Extension Entrepreneurship Specialist. Those currently employed can begin the business while still being employed to provide income and maintain insurance while starting a business. Owning and operating a business can be very time consuming and it is important to have family support. Working from home requires a mindset that you are working. As you think about starting a business, make a list of the pros and cons and determine if this is the work environment that will best suit your needs.
