HASS Hour Wednesday this Month

The HASS Hour, a monthly series offered by the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Utah State University, has returned to its original location, the Logan Golf and Country Club (710 North 1500 East). The series has returned, but will be held this month on Wednesday, rather than the traditional Thursday gathering. The next event is Nov. 14.

HASS Hour puts a faculty member or administrator in the spotlight to share insights, research or creative activity. Faculty members are featured in a 10-minute “TimePiece.” A portion of socializing and fun is served along the way as well, said Gary Kiger, HASS dean.

November’s event features assistant professor of English Chris Cokinos. The title of his  “TimePiece” is “A Pocketful of Starlight: Conveying the Size of Wonder in Science and Nature Writing.”

HASS Hour begins with a social gathering at 5:15 p.m., and the TimePiece begins at approximately 6 p.m. Food, including hors d’oeuvres, is served during the social hour. Admission is $10 for individuals and $18 for couples.

Faculty, staff and members of the public are invited to attend HASS Hour. For information, call the college office at (435) 797-1195.
