HASS Hour Features Faculty Members in 10-Minute Informational Sessions

The HASS Hour, a monthly series offered by the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Utah State University, puts a faculty member in the spotlight to share insights, research or creative activity. Faculty members are featured in a 10-minute “TimePiece.” A portion of socializing and fun is served along the way as well, said Gary Kiger, HASS dean.

April’s event features Melody Graulich, a professor of English and American studies and editor of “Western American Literature.” She will present “Separate but Equal — or — Meanwhile, Back at the Gender Gap.”

 

Graulich is in the spotlight Thursday, May 17, at the Italian Place, 48 Federal Avenue, Logan.

 

HASS Hour begins with a social hour at 5:15 p.m., and the TimePiece begins at 6 p.m. Food, including hors d’oeuvres, is served during the social hour. Admission is $10 for individuals and $18 for couples.

 

“Please join us monthly for these enjoyable sessions,” Kiger said. “I’m often surprised at the breadth and depth of information that our faculty provides. I always learn something and I always have fun.”
