HASS Hour Features Faculty Members in 10-Minute Informational Sessions

The HASS Hour, a monthly series offered by the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Utah State University, puts a faculty member in the spotlight to share insights, research or creative activity. Faculty members are featured in a 10-minute “TimePiece.” A portion of socializing and fun is served along the way as well, said Gary Kiger, HASS dean.

July’s featured speaker is Alan Hashimoto, an associate professor in the department of art, who will present “Digital Time-based Graphics Featuring War, Family and Penguins.” Hashimoto is featured July 20 at the Logan Golf and Country Club.

 

HASS hour begins with a social hour at 5:15 p.m., and the TimePiece begins at 6 p.m. Creative hor’s douvres are served during the social hour. Admission is $10 for individuals or $18 for couples.

 

“Please join us monthly for these enjoyable and engaging sessions,” Kiger said. “The presentations are often edgy, always provocative, and I am impressed by the breadth and depth of information that our faculty provides. I always learn something and I always have fun visiting with our friends from the university and the community.”

Beginning in August, the HASS Hour will relocate while the Logan Golf and Country Club undergoes renovations. A new location will be announced as soon as it is finalized.
