Give Your Computer a Break for the Holidays
There’s one turnoff when it comes to the holidays, or, at least there is if the Utah State Information Technology Department gets its way.
The IT Department doesn’t want to put a damper on any holiday festivities but it is asking that everyone turn off their computers before they head out the door this holiday season.
“Obviously, it saves power,” said Steve Eaton, a spokesman for the department. “It also protects them from power surges and keeps them safe from would-be hackers who seem to keep quite busy during the holidays.”
