Get the Perfect Mother's Day Gift While Supporting an Art Student
Instead of making that oft-requested phone call, why not get mom something that is not only attractive but useful? That’s what members of Utah State University’s Ceramics Guild proposes while making it easy to find the perfect gift for mom.
The guild holds its annual “Mother’s Day Sale” Thursday through Saturday, April 23-25, just in time pick up mom’s gift prior to Mother’s Day — celebrated May 10 this year.
The sale is held at the ceramics studio, FAV 123, in the Chase Fine Arts Center on USU’s Logan campus. Opening day hours April 23 are 5-9 p.m., with Friday and Saturday hours running 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Everyone is invited to stop by the studio to shop and to see where the student members of the guild work to create their ceramic wares. The sale includes decorative and functional items, including bowls, plates, platters, vases and more. Stop by and see what’s available. Throughout the sale members of the guild are usually at the studio and patrons can ask questions about the sale items and the creative process.
This is the last sale of the academic year for the USU Ceramics Guild and like the previous sales, it serves as a fundraiser. Proceeds support the guild and its members in travel expenses and also provides support for guests who travel to Logan for lectures and demonstrations.
