Fueling the Future

A group of USU researchers is taking oil from algae and converting it to biodiesel fuel. Biodiesel is a clean and carbon-dioxide-neutral fuel, but most of the current product comes from soybeans and corn. Algae is a good option because it can produce up to 10,000 gallons of oil per acre, can be grown virtually anywhere and does not compete with food sources.
